Superheroes are known for their superpowers & they're nothing without them. Fans hoped that they could have some of these powers in their real life & thought that it would be great, but it's not always right as it sounds. Today, I will give you 5 examples of those superpowers that would suck in real life,so that you firstly think scientifically next time you hope of getting a superpower.
5. X-RAY vision:
This superpower enable holder to look through any solid object. It's most famously associated with Superman & it's working varies a lot depending on continuity,so is it's effect. I am taking into consideration the main continuity of DC comics where they told that X-RAY flows through Superman's body which enables him to look through solid objects. Well a Kryptonian body works by the rules of the comics human body doesn't,if any body remains in exposure to X-RAY for such a long time, person will get cancer eventually. This superpower will get you killed by cancer & also have a limited use in daily life,so I don't think it's a good idea to have this superpower.
4.Insensitivity:
This superpower is one of the few powers present in some real people too. This is due to a rare disease called
congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP). This power is again mostly related to Superman. Some people termed those people suffering from disease as superhuman. But it's not great thing, pain,burn etc need to be felt by body so that we can act in defence & prevent these things from harming us. Insensitivity to these things would be very harmful to us,we could get burned or dehydrated or pierced resulting in loss of life,limbs without even getting alert & so we wouldn't resist to these things.
3.Weather manipulation:
If you have watched any X-Men movie, you know about the character of storm surely or you surely know about Thor, thanks to MCU. Both of these character could manipulate weather,naturally people wish that they should gain these powers, considering all badass & wonderful feats we saw in movies ,but most things specially weather doesn't work this way in real life. If you bring rain somewhere it means that you bring clouds from somewhere else as weather across world is related,so you would kill thousands,if not millions of people in the process. Also if you channel thunder like Thor,it may don't hurt you,but it will damage everything nearby, including your friends also if you use them indoors it may cause Short circuit instantly & you also could be damaged by fire due to it. It's very necessary to control it every time, because a Small feat of carelessness could kill everyone including you,so it's a double-edged sword.
2.Superspeed:
All of previous powers I talked about could be useful if handled carefully, but super-speed can't. It could only produce energy,but I'm sure nobody's want to make himself a power plant. Some people saw flash saving people, running great distance in shortest time & bring everything around world within seconds. But if you're thinking about doing same thing,I could tell you this is no way to do these feats because if you divert someone's motion's direction so fastly,that person would surely be dead or else you would get his bones, especially spine damaged,else if you touch someone by mistake,that person will explode,the shockwave by your motion cause everything nearby to damage & got break up. Also think how slow you had to move if you want to interact with people or about how much you need to eat to meet your body demands or how many pairs of shoes you need to change as they can't handle friction of your motion also your clothes will catch fire regularly,all of these things would surely piss you off & you will surely don't want this power considering all these things. Well what can be worse than this.
1. Immortality:
On first thought, immortality is anyone's first wish as who wants to die,no one right. But consider these things,you will live on & on while all of your loved ones die, at last you're left alone & you had to live like this forever ,you try doing suicide,but that make things worse,your body limbs got damaged, now you will live like that forever, you will starve, feel thirsty but can't die & will lie there forever.Or else, when you eat everything, went everywhere and watched everything & there's nothing & no one you could spend time with,why would you live, but you can't die. Now that's a lot to bargain for.
